The Seiko Prospex SLA033 is a limited edition inspired by the iconic 1970s Seiko diver's watch, known among collectors as the 6105 model or "Captain Willard". This modern re-edition retains the characteristic asymmetric case shape with the crown at 4 o'clock, protected by prominent case guards. This design has become one of the most iconic in the history of Seiko diver's watches.
The 45mm stainless steel case features a special "super-hard coating" for increased scratch resistance. The watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating dive bezel with Zaratsu polishing and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, ensuring high durability and excellent legibility. Water resistance reaches a professional level of 200 meters.
Inside the watch beats the automatic in-house Seiko Caliber 8L35 movement, specifically designed for diving models and technologically based on mechanical movements used in Grand Seiko watches. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
The SLA033 model was hand-assembled at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Japan and produced in a limited series of only 2,500 pieces worldwide. Thanks to the combination of historical design, modern materials, and a high-end mechanical movement, it is one of the most sought-after collector's models in the Seiko Prospex range.
