About the model
The Louis Erard x Astro Boy model represents the first cultural collaboration within the 2340 collection, and a moment when the Louis Erard brand ventures into pop culture icons. In collaboration with Tezuka Productions, it pays homage to the legendary character Astro Boy, a hero who, since the 1950s, has symbolized empathy, humanity, and the hope for harmony between humans and machines. This limited edition of 178 pieces combines watchmaking craftsmanship with a deeper story about identity, technology, and the future.
The watch is based on the Louis Erard 2340 design platform, the brand's first series with an integrated bracelet. The case combines brushed titanium for lightness with polished steel for contrast and texture, while maintaining an elegant profile with a height of only 8.95 mm. The bracelet with a five-piece architecture consists of 92 hand-faceted components, and thanks to the combination of satin and polished surfaces, it creates a seamless transition between the case and the bracelet.
The dominant feature is the multilayered dial, which serves as a scene from the animated world. The colored Astro Boy is applied in a three-dimensional form with a dynamic smoky effect and a background in the shape of Metro City with vertical satin brushing. In the background, the silhouette of one of his adversaries is hidden, while the rehaut with a white minute scale and Super-LumiNova SLN-C1 frames the entire scene with a soft blue light. The case back is engraved with an Astro Boy motif as a tribute to his legacy.
Inside the watch, the Sellita SW300-1 automatic movement operates with a 56-hour power reserve, rhodium-plated hands with diamond cut and SLN-C1 luminescence. The use of sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and water resistance up to 50 meters underline the practical yet luxurious character of the model.
Louis Erard x Astro Boy is more than just a limited edition – it is a symbol of the connection between culture, technology, and emotion. It embodies the idea that even in the digital age, mechanical art can tell a human story. Astro Boy here is not just a motif, but a bearer of values that transcend generations – courage, empathy, and faith in the future.
