Arcange AS06 Salmon: A Unique Dial with a Modern Touch of History
The Arcange AS06 Salmon model is a fascinating tribute to "Sector dial" dress watches from the 1940s, giving them a modern and highly original look. The dominant feature of this model is the dial in an iconic salmon shade with a sunburst finish, which creates dynamic light reflections. This warm base provides a perfect contrast to the matte grey sectors for reading hours and minutes, creating an aesthetically balanced and clear composition. The modern and technical character of the watch is underlined by the use of Roman numerals and faceted Alpha hands, which are coated with anthracite PVD in a dark gunmetal shade.
The exceptional quality of the dial is confirmed by the precise craftsmanship of details such as double-layer printing and delicate circular guilloché on the minute track. This textured surface adds depth and sophistication to the watch, complemented by subtle blue accents that introduce a fresh and contemporary element to the classic design. The entire dial is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with a five-layer internal anti-reflective coating, ensuring that the salmon shade and delicate guilloché stand out in full splendor without distracting reflections.
Despite its sophisticated appearance, the watch remains true to the technical durability characteristic of the Arcange brand. The 316L stainless steel case, with a diameter of 37.2 mm, maintains an extremely low profile with a thickness of only 9.5 mm, ensuring maximum wearing comfort. Inside, a premium Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement ensures smooth operation and high reliability. With 100 meters of water resistance and a first-class leather strap, the AS06 Salmon model represents an ideal combination of nostalgic elegance and modern watchmaking engineering.
The 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 37.2 mm, a lug-to-lug of 46 mm, and a thickness of 9.5 mm including the sapphire crystal. The heart of the watch is the automatic Miyota 9039 movement (28,800 vph, 42-hour power reserve). The dial with a salmon sunburst finish, matte grey sectors, and circular guilloché is complemented by indices and hands with an anthracite PVD coating. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters and comes with a handcrafted leather strap with a width of 20 mm.

About the brand
Arcange is an independent French watchmaking brand, whose origin is linked to a personal discovery by its founder. As a child, he discovered his grandfather's 1969 watch, and this moment sparked a lasting interest in the mechanics and aesthetics of classic timepieces. Therefore, Arcange's designs often feature elements inspired by vintage models, as well as the instrumental appearance of aviation instruments.
Watches are finally assembled and checked in Besançon, the traditional center of French watchmaking, and are complemented by leather straps also manufactured in France.
From a technical point of view, Arcange primarily uses Miyota 9 series mechanical automatic movements, with some models featuring rotor decoration or a transparent case back. The brand is also characterized by so-called sector dials, subdued colors, and a clean layout of elements that refer to the French tradition of functional and clear design. Cases are usually steel, often with brushed surfaces and polished details that emphasize simple geometric shapes.
Arcange offers a glimpse into contemporary independent watchmaking that builds on French tradition, works with technical details, and at the same time maintains its own, understated design language.
