The Astral Spaceship Automatic by AndoAndoAndo - Meridian Shimmer

The collaboration between Yu Ando and his friend Sibit from SHM Creations began with a simple idea: what if a watch case looked like a spaceship? The initial inspiration was the Razor Crest from Star Wars, but as is often the case with such projects, the Millennium Falcon also influenced the final result. And the outcome is exactly what you'd expect from AndoAndoAndo: original, playful, with every detail meticulously thought out.

Case: A Shape for Space Travelers

The asymmetrical stainless steel case measures 47.5 mm from the front (the crown, which forms the cockpit) to the stern. The width is 38 mm, and the lug-to-lug length is 37 mm. The front lugs are located under the cockpit, while the rear ones form the exhaust nozzles of the propulsion system – and it is from these that the strap emerges. A deliberate design: the strap looks like an exhaust flame trailing behind an accelerating ship.

Both the front and back crystals are sapphire. Water resistance is 5 ATM.

Dial and Hands

The dial is luminescent with a motif matching the theme of each color variant. The hands are still in the final prototyping stage.

Movement: Seiko NH38

Inside works an automatic Seiko NH38 movement – a Japanese caliber without a date function, with manual winding support and hacking. A reliable base for a watch that doesn't need to prove anything with mechanical complications. The character is carried by the case.

The Astral Meridian Shimmer features a silver case with a dark blue element on the front of the ship and a light blue one on the jet exhaust.
