The Sartory-Billard SB10 Jumping Hour Meteorite is a watch that deliberately departs from the traditional idea of what a mechanical watch should look like. It has neither a classic dial nor hands. Its dominant feature is a genuine Gibeon meteorite, found in Namibia, which is crafted into the form of a central cabochon. Its surface reveals the natural Widmanstätten pattern – a unique crystalline structure formed millions of years ago as the meteorite cooled in space. Because it is a natural material, each cabochon has its own pattern and orientation, and no two pieces are exactly alike.

At the same time, the SB10 brings a very unusual solution for time display. The hours are displayed through a large window at six o'clock, where they instantly jump to the next digit every 60 minutes. The minutes, on the other hand, continuously revolve around the meteorite via an extremely thin sapphire disk. Time is thus created by a combination of two different movements – the instantaneous jump of the hours and the continuous movement of the minutes. Thanks to the large numerals, reading the time is surprisingly easy.

Power is provided by the Swiss automatic caliber La Joux-Perret G101A with a patented jumping hour module and a power reserve of 55 hours. Both hours and minutes are displayed using sapphire disks approximately 0.2 mm thick, which, thanks to their design, almost disappear in the space above the cabochon. In addition, there is a ring with Super-LumiNova BGW9 around the meteorite, which creates a prominent luminous circle at night. (SARTORY-BILLARD)

The stainless steel case has a diameter of 39.5 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 44 mm, and a thickness of 11.5 mm. The combination of polished and brushed surfaces complements the sapphire elements and water resistance up to 80 meters. An anthracite rubber or leather strap is available, as is a steel bracelet with quick release.

The SB10 is also a significant model for Sartory-Billard itself – it is the brand's first complication. Its concept is based on the SB08 project presented in 2024 and represents a more focused form designed for real everyday wear. The result is a watch that combines an unusual mechanical complication, a jeweler's approach to material, and a minimalist time display.
