Sartory-Billard SB04-E Infinity Limited Edition – Blue Meteorite

Blue meteorite. Three watches. Exclusively for INFINITY Watches.

After the success of our first joint limited edition, Sartory-Billard and we decided to continue. The result is the second limited edition created by Sartory-Billard exclusively for INFINITY Watches.

And this time, we took exclusivity even further. Only three pieces were created.

Gibeon – a real meteorite on your wrist

The main role is played by the dial made from real Gibeon meteorite, one of the best-known iron meteorites used in watchmaking.

And that's where the story of this dial begins.

The typical geometric structure you see on its surface is not man-made. It is the natural crystalline structure of an iron-nickel meteorite, formed by extremely slow cooling of the material over millions of years.

To fully reveal it, the meteorite must be properly processed.

For our edition, the surface is first acid-etched to highlight the characteristic structure of the meteorite. It is then rhodium-plated. Rhodium plating helps to accentuate the pattern but also has an important practical function – it protects the material itself.

Only then does the blue come into play.

    Why is the meteorite blue?

We got the answer to this question directly from the founder of Sartory-Billard, Armand Billard.

And when we asked him for the exact recipe, he jokingly asked if we really wanted him to reveal the recipe that his "great-great-great-grandfather gave him when he was five years old."

According to him, the reality is seemingly simpler – but it is the know-how that determines the result.

The blue color is not created by simply painting the meteorite with an opaque color. A transparent tinted clear coat is applied to the prepared and rhodium-plated surface.

And the word transparent is crucial here.

The layer gives the dial its intense blue hue, but at the same time leaves the natural structure of the meteorite visible beneath it. Light passes through the colored layer, reflects off the textured and rhodium-plated surface, creating a very vibrant visual effect.

Depending on the viewing angle and the incident light, the dial can therefore transition from deep dark blue through electric blue to lighter metallic reflections. Above all, however, the pattern of the Gibeon itself remains visible.

The resulting color is therefore not just a property of the pigment. It is the result of a combination of the natural structure of the meteorite, etching, rhodium plating, a transparent tinted layer, and, above all, the experience of combining these individual processes.

The recipe remains with Armand. You can have the result on your wrist.

Each of the three pieces is different

With a natural meteorite, no two dials can be absolutely identical.

The characteristic pattern is part of the material itself, and its orientation and structure vary between individual cuts. Although only three watches were created, these three pieces are not identical to each other.

Each owner will thus receive their own part of the Gibeon meteorite with a unique pattern.

Typography as part of the design

A striking part of this special configuration is also the modern typography of the Arabic numerals. Their clean, geometric design creates an interesting contrast with the irregular natural structure of the meteorite and shifts the SB04-E from classic elegance towards a more contemporary, sportier character.

The numerals are not merely a practical element for telling time. Together with the minute scale, they create a distinctive graphic layer on the dial, giving it a clear structure while leaving ample space for the meteorite pattern to stand out.

It is precisely the combination of the organic structure of the material with the precise geometry of the typography that gives this edition its own identity.

And when the lights go out…

One of the elements that may not be immediately obvious at first glance is the striking luminescence.

Luminescent material is used on both the hands and the hour numerals, so the character of the watch changes significantly after dark. While the blue meteorite and its crystalline structure dominate during the day, the dial's graphics come to the fore in the dark.

The result is not just better legibility. Lume here becomes a full-fledged part of the watch's design. The luminous Arabic numerals create a distinctive ring around the dial and, together with the hands, give the SB04-E a completely different look after dark.

It was precisely this contrast that we wanted for our edition – an elegant and, in the light, exceptionally structured meteorite dial that transforms into a surprisingly modern and sporty watch in the dark.

    Sartory-Billard to our taste

Sartory-Billard is among the independent brands that build watches primarily on unusual materials, elaborate dials, and the ability to create something truly distinctive.

The SB04-E model combines this philosophy with the practicality of a watch designed for everyday wear. The steel case with a diameter of 39.5 mm combines polished and brushed surfaces, and thanks to the concave bezel, it appears even more subtle on the wrist than the dimensions themselves suggest.

The distinctive Sartory-Billard hands are inspired by the shape of a fountain pen nib, and their polished surfaces beautifully interact with light. Together with the striking meteorite, modern Arabic numerals, and luminescence, they create a watch that is clearly a Sartory-Billard at first glance, but at the same time has its own character created specifically for INFINITY Watches.

La Joux-Perret and 68 hours of power reserve

Inside, a Swiss automatic La Joux-Perret movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz with a power reserve of approximately 68 hours.

The SB04-E is not just a design object. The screw-down crown and 100-meter water resistance make it a watch that is perfectly ready for everyday wear.

    Limited Edition with Meteorite Dial

Second Chapter of Sartory-Billard × INFINITY Watches

The first joint limited edition Sartory-Billard for INFINITY Watches is now followed by a model that we wanted to make even more exclusive.

This time, we combined Gibeon meteorite, a special blue surface finish, modern typography, and striking luminescence into a configuration that shows a slightly different face of Sartory-Billard. Less formal, more distinctive, and designed to work equally well during the day and after dark.

Three watches. Three unrepeatable meteorite dials. And no more pieces.

The Sartory-Billard SB04-E Infinity Limited Edition – Blue Meteorite was created in just three examples and is available exclusively through INFINITY Watches.

If you want one of them, there isn't much room for hesitation this time.
