Field watches have a clear origin. They were created for soldiers who needed reliable watches that showed the time equally well in mud, rain, and dust – without complications, without unnecessary elements, with excellent readability.
UltraHex™ – titanium that doesn't want to scratch
RZE treated the titanium case with an UltraHex™ surface treatment with a hardness of up to 1200 Hv, creating titanium that is approximately eight times more scratch-resistant than steel, hypoallergenic, and corrosion-resistant, while being approximately half the weight. The result is the Valour 38 weighing just 57 grams including the strap with a thickness of 11 mm. You almost don't feel it on your wrist.
Dial: readability above all else
Regardless of the chosen color shade – Carbon Black, Medallion Yellow, Slate Grey, Calcite or Vervain Blue – you get a legible dial with a design language referencing 1960s field watches. Arabic numerals in full Japanese Super-LumiNova, legible hands, an inner 24-hour military scale. The date window is then hidden at the 6 o'clock position with contrastingly printed numbers. Minimum branding, maximum function.
Viton™ gaskets and screw-down crown
The new version of the model adds Viton™ gaskets – a fluoroelastomer used in the aerospace and chemical industries, resistant to extreme temperatures and aggressive substances. Screw-down crown with engraved logo, screw-down solid titanium case back, 100m / 10 ATM water resistance.
Seiko NH35A movement
For reliability and service availability, RZE opted for the proven Seiko NH35A mechanical movement – one of the most widespread automatic movements in the industry, with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a power reserve of 41 hours, quick date adjustment, and hacking seconds function, and the possibility of manual winding. Nothing ostentatious – exactly what field watches need.
