Orphic Project 0 - Stardust (L)
Orphic Project 0 – Wandering Hour
Space-inspired watches that change the traditional way of displaying time.
The Orphic Project 0 model represents an original fusion of modern watchmaking, cosmic aesthetics, and the unconventional wandering hour complication. The design is based on the characteristic hexagonal structure of the James Webb Space Telescope, the geometry of which is reflected in both the dial and the overall appearance of the watch.
The most prominent feature is the wandering hour mechanism, which replaces the classic hour hand with a system of rotating indicators. The current hour gradually travels along the minute scale, creating a constantly changing mechanical composition. The result is an unusual yet intuitive way of reading time that highlights the movement of the mechanism itself.
The watch is based on a Japanese automatic Miyota 9039 caliber, supplemented by a wandering hour display module. Also noteworthy is the exhibition case back with a rotor inspired by the geometry of the Webb telescope. As it rotates, the luminescent details create an impressive visual effect reminiscent of orbital paths.
The collection includes three color variants – Nebula, Stardust, and Void – and also allows for the choice of crown placement on the right or left (Destro).
Orphic Project 0 is a showcase of independent watch design that is not afraid to experiment. Instead of another variation on a traditional watch, it offers a distinct mechanical object where a fascination with space meets an original way of displaying time.
