The Manhattan 37 is one of MAEN's most distinctive models. But in the special QIANKUN edition, it takes on a completely different look. Its dial is made of natural tiger's eye, so no two pieces can be exactly alike.
The QIANKUN collection is based on the ancient Chinese concepts of Qian and Kun, representing heaven and earth, and works with the idea of balance between Yin and Yang, light and dark, tranquility and movement. It was originally created in collaboration with authorized partner Chronosport as a limited edition for the Chinese market. For the international market, MAEN has released only 50 pieces of each dial design.
Dial made of natural tiger's eye
The dial is the main reason why this version of the Manhattan is exceptional. Tiger's Eye is a natural stone characterized by warm golden and earthy tones, and especially by luminous stripes that change according to the angle of incident light.
Therefore, when the wrist moves, the dial literally comes alive – sometimes it appears dark brown, other times distinct golden reflections appear in it. Because each dial is made from natural stone, each of the 50 manufactured pieces has its own pattern and is an original.
In the symbolism of the collection, tiger's eye represents earth, courage, vitality, and strength. The second QIANKUN variant uses blue lapis lazuli, representing the deep night sky, wisdom, and insight.
Characteristic Manhattan
The 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 37 mm, so the Manhattan retains its compact proportions, which are one of its greatest assets.
Its vertically elongated geometric case flows smoothly into the integrated steel bracelet. The combination of brushed surfaces and polished facets accentuates its architecture and interacts with light as the wrist moves, similar to the stone dial itself.
Inside, a Swiss automatic movement operates, and the practical side of the watch is complemented by sapphire glass and 100 meters of water resistance.

About the brand
MAEN Watches is an independent watch brand founded in 2017 by Dutch designers Jules van Helvoort and Sebastiaan Cortjaens. The idea originated in Stockholm, where they both lived and decided to create a brand combining Nordic austerity with a Dutch sense of design and detail.
MAEN focuses on modern mechanical watches inspired by classic shapes of the 60s and 70s. Model lines such as Hudson, Skymaster, or Manhattan are based on historical archetypes, which the brand interprets in a contemporary way – with compact dimensions, precise craftsmanship, and Swiss movements.
