The collaboration between Louis Erard and renowned designer Alain Silberstein on an exclusive edition for the USA showcases Silberstein's distinctive style while paying homage to the American flag. The dial is encircled by a reflective blue ring, complemented by a prominent white arrow for the minute hand, a red triangle for the hour indicator, and a subtly yellow serpentine hand for the seconds. The watch is an ingenious exploration of proportions, drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement and the rich heritage of horology.

The Louis Erard brand was founded in 1931 and experienced a significant revival in 2003, marking the beginning of its successful journey. This flourishing period culminated in the launch of the first Régulateur models in 2011. Louis Erard focuses on creating distinctive and attractive watches with excellent craftsmanship. To maintain accessible prices, it utilizes calibers from renowned Swiss companies Sellita and ETA. In addition, the brand is increasingly making its mark in the artistic sphere through innovative collaborations with leading designers and watchmakers.

About Alain Silberstein

Alain Silberstein, born in 1950, has had an unusual career. Originally an interior architect and designer in Paris, he began building his career as a watchmaker in Besançon, France, in the late 1980s, where he founded his own company. At a time when the demise of mechanical watchmaking seemed almost inevitable, he joined a small circle of Swiss watchmakers who championed the renaissance of mechanical watches with innovative functions.

His work is a tribute to the Bauhaus art movement, which emerged in Germany in 1919, and to significant artists such as Gropius, Itten, Moholy-Nagy, Kandinsky, Klee, Albers, Bayer, and Mies van der Rohe, whose works continue to influence graphic design, architecture, and design in general.

Silberstein developed a unique style where the geometric rigor of shapes and mechanical movements playfully combine a rainbow of evocative colors and innovative materials. His approach to high-end watchmaking is artistic and playful, sometimes surprising and often provocative. He creates unique timepieces with a poetic approach to the passage of time and the emotions present in both personal and shared moments.

For twenty-five years, he designed and created around a thousand exceptional watches each year, all in limited and numbered series, in his workshop at the heart of the Franco-Swiss watchmaking region. After closing his company in 2012, he turned to collaborating with other watch brands such as MB&F, Romain Jerome, and now Louis Erard.

Alain Silberstein continues to explore the world of watchmaking, situated between art and craft, where rigorous forms, innovative materials, and evocative colors harmoniously converge.
