LIP Churchill T18 Original Model

The T18 Original model is a true delicacy. It is a modern reinterpretation of the original T18 model with a mechanical movement with manual winding, a steel case and applied indices, i.e., in the configuration and design that made the brand's watches famous in the 1940s. Following a successful limited edition with a gold-plated case, which LIP released earlier this year, a highly sought-after combination is now entering the market. This is a model with a steel case.

For this model, LIP decided to construct a new mechanical movement, which would correspond in its structure to the original movement that LIP had been using since the 1920s. The development of the movement took 3 years. The components of the movement are manufactured in Switzerland in the La Joux-Perret factory. The movements are then assembled in Besançon by Humbert-Droz. Casing and final inspection are carried out in the LIP workshops in Besançon. This is a newly constructed barrel-shaped movement, which was built exactly to match the case shape of the LIP Churchill series watches.

Only 150 pieces of this special edition with sapphire crystal and a handmade leather strap were produced. We managed to secure 2 pieces. This is an exclusive opportunity to own a beautifully crafted watch with a story and historical legacy.

By the way, did you know that most rectangular case watches were made by LIP? Over 400,000 of them were produced between 1933 and 1949 alone.

Case: 34.5 mm x 23.5 mm (Lug to lug 41.5 mm) made of steel. The case is 10 mm high.
Dial: silver in two layers and two shades, applied Arabic numerals, off-center second hand at 6 o'clock.
Glass: sapphire, 2.35 mm thick, with anti-reflective coating.
Water resistance: 30 m
Movement: Exclusive mechanical movement manufactured in the Swiss factory La Joux-Perret, completely finished and assembled in Besançon, consisting of 118 parts. The dimensions and specifications of the movement are identical to the very first T18 movement from 1933. It is a barrel-shaped movement measuring 18 x 28.5 mm - 4.05 mm thick - with a frequency of 3 Hz or 21,600 vibrations per hour – 21 jewels – with a power reserve of 40 hours – accuracy of –12 seconds to +12 seconds/24h.
Strap: leather, brown color, made of ostrich, 20 mm wide. Made by Sibra in Besançon.
