In 1974, the LIP brand decided to transcend the boundaries of traditional watchmaking and approached seven designers from outside the industry to redefine the appearance of its watches. The result, a year later, was a bold collection that changed the brand's future. The MACH 2000 chronograph, designed by world-renowned designer Roger Tallon, became an icon of this era.

The clock is equipped with a silent quartz movement and an analog time display with three hands – two white for hours and minutes, and a distinctive yellow for seconds. The black dial with minimalist indices and two decorative sub-dials references the original appearance of the iconic watch. The case is made of durable ABS thermoplastic polymer, covered by flat acrylic glass.
The dimensions of the clock are 31.5 × 30 × 5.5 cm, and it weighs 900 g. It is powered by one AA battery, which is included in the package.
It comes in an original LIP box and is covered by a two-year warranty.

LIP: A French Legend
LIP is a renowned French brand that has been producing quality watches for over 150 years. The company was founded in 1867 by Emmanuel Lipmann in Besançon, France. Initially, the brand focused on producing pocket watches, but with the advancement of technology, it also began to produce wristwatches. Over the years, Lip designed and produced approximately 40 different movements for pocket and wristwatches.
LIP watches are known for their elegant and timeless design, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The brand has collaborated with renowned designers and artists, such as André Donat (designer of the T18 model) and Roger Tallon (designer of the Mach 2000 model).
One of the most iconic LIP watches is the "Baignoire" model, designed by the company's founder in 1925. This watch features a rectangular case and a unique crown placement at 12 o'clock. It was worn by famous personalities such as Pablo Picasso and Marilyn Monroe.
An Indelible Mark in the Watchmaking World
Among watch collectors, the most sought-after watches are probably those launched in the 1950s and late 1960s. At that time, LIP helped the then practically unknown brand Blancpain with marketing and sales of their waterproof watches. Models from this period feature not only the Blancpain logo but also the LIP logo on the dial. Moreover, initially, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms series were indeed powered by a Lip R23 movement.
LIP watches also made history by being the first brand to introduce electric watches in 1952. The watch worn in space by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in 1961 was powered by a licensed LIP movement.
