The Laine V38 Salmon Guilloché combines timeless aesthetics and the technical perfection of independent watchmaking. Its salmon dial is adorned with hand-engraved guilloché patterns – a combination of Panier, Flamme, and Clou de Paris – created on a hand-operated machine over a century old. Each dial is an original, requiring hours of concentrated work.

The aesthetics are underlined by heat-blued hands, whose shade is created by traditional steel heating, and applied white gold numerals, which are then hand-polished to a mirror finish. The result is a dial with extraordinary depth and brilliance.

Inside, an automatic movement with a micro-rotor from the Vaucher manufacture operates, known for its reliability, thin profile, and high level of decoration. Torsti Laine further refines this base caliber – with his own bridges and hand-finishing, from delicate "anglage" to demanding black polishing. Every detail is done by hand, which underlines the character of a unique piece of horological art.

The 38 mm diameter case ensures a perfect balance between comfort and elegance, making the V38 an ideal companion for everyday wear and special occasions.

Torsti Laine, an independent watchmaker from Finland, is a prominent figure on the contemporary independent scene. He began his journey at the prestigious Finnish School of Watchmaking, where he gained a solid foundation in the craft. He then worked for world-renowned brands A. Lange & Söhne in Germany and Kari Voutilainen in Switzerland, where he perfected his art.

The turning point came in 2014 when he received the prestigious Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award. This recognition gave him the courage to establish his own brand Laine Watches in Le Locle – a Swiss city with a deep watchmaking tradition. In his small workshop, he works entirely independently and dedicates himself to every detail with utmost care.

Laine draws inspiration from traditional techniques, particularly the art of guilloché – delicate hand-engraving that gives dials depth, luster, and a distinctive character. It is thanks to his masterful command of this technique that he has won the admiration of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
