Laine V38 Frosted Meteorite is one of Torsti Laine's most exclusive models. Its dial combines two fascinating techniques – a hand-crafted frosted surface, which gives it a delicately matte, almost velvety feel, and a central part made of meteorite, whose crystalline structure is absolutely unique and unrepeatable. Each dial is literally one of a kind.
The watch is fitted with an automatic movement with a micro-rotor from the Swiss manufacture Vaucher, known for its thinness and precision. Torsti Laine further develops this base – complementing it with his own bridges, screws, and detailed surface finishes. Typical features include hand anglage, fine brushing, and the demanding technique of black polishing, which appears only on watches of the highest level.
The case with a diameter of 38 mm offers a perfect compromise between elegance and comfort, while the aesthetic combining natural meteorite and hand-crafted watchmaking techniques makes the V38 Frosted Meteorite model a true gem for collectors and lovers of exceptional craftsmanship.
This specific combination was created based on the designs of Bhanu and Ondra. It is therefore a unique piece of its kind.
About the brand
Torsti Laine, an independent watchmaker from Finland, is one of the prominent figures in today's independent scene. He began his journey at the prestigious Finnish School of Watchmaking, where he acquired a solid foundation in the craft. Subsequently, he worked for world-renowned brands A. Lange & Söhne in Germany and Kari Voutilainen in Switzerland, where he perfected his art.
A turning point came in 2014 when he received the prestigious Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award. This recognition gave him the courage to establish his own brand, Laine Watches, in Le Locle – a Swiss town with a deep watchmaking tradition. In his small workshop, he works entirely independently, dedicating himself to every detail with utmost care.
Laine draws inspiration from traditional techniques, particularly the art of guilloché – delicate hand-engraving that lends dials depth, luster, and a distinctive character. It is precisely thanks to his masterful command of this technique that he has earned the admiration of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
