Laine P37 Murasaki Flame is the embodiment of simple elegance and watchmaking artistry in its purest form. Torsti Laine, an independent Finnish watchmaker based in Le Locle, Switzerland, has created a model that combines minimalism with exceptional craftsmanship.

The dominant feature of the watch is the guilloché dial, a traditional method of fine engraving in which regular geometric patterns are created on the metal surface. Each dial is hand-finished on a historic machine, and the entire process requires hours of precise work, maximum concentration, and experience. The result is a fascinating depth and play of light that gives the dial a unique character.

The Murasaki Flame variant is also inspired by Japanese dyeing traditions and stands out for its mesmerizing colors – shades of purple that alternate on the dial depending on the light, resembling a gentle flame and making each piece original.

The P37 model is based on Torsti Laine's philosophy: less is more. Instead of combining several guilloché patterns, it offers one, yet distinctive motif, making the watch appear clean, elegant, and at the same time unmistakable.

Each piece is the result of manual watchmaking – from the dial to the hands and the finishing of the movement. The P37 Murasaki Flame is therefore not just a timepiece, but above all a small work of art that connoisseurs and passionate collectors will appreciate.

Torsti Laine, an independent watchmaker from Finland, is one of the prominent figures in the contemporary independent scene. He began his journey at the prestigious Finnish School of Watchmaking, where he gained a solid foundation in the craft. He then worked with world-renowned brands A. Lange & Söhne in Germany and Kari Voutilainen in Switzerland, where he perfected his art.

A turning point came in 2014 when he received the prestigious Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award. This recognition gave him the courage to establish his own brand, Laine Watches, in Le Locle – a Swiss town with a deep watchmaking tradition. In his small workshop, he works completely independently, dedicating himself to every detail with utmost care.

Laine draws inspiration from traditional techniques, especially the art of guilloché – fine hand-engraving that gives dials depth, brilliance, and a distinctive character. It is thanks to his masterful command of this technique that he has earned the admiration of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
