Islander Port Jefferson Skin Diver
Classic dive watch in an elegant, exceptionally slim design. Vintage character, modern technology, and water resistance to 150 meters.
The Islander Port Jefferson, also known as the Port Jeff, is a modern interpretation of the classic skin diver watch, which rose to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s. These watches were designed primarily for recreational diving and exploring the underwater world without bulky diving gear. The Port Jefferson carries on this tradition, combining sporty durability with an elegance that makes it just as suitable with a wetsuit as with a shirt.
The model’s greatest asset is its exceptionally slim stainless steel case. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and 48 mm lug-to-lug, it is just 11 mm thick, or 11.5 mm including the domed sapphire crystal. A combination of brushed and polished surfaces accentuates its elegant proportions, while the screw-down crown and case back ensure 15 ATM (150-meter) water resistance.
The dial features applied hour markers and bold hands for excellent legibility and a classic dive-watch aesthetic. The different colorways give the watch distinct character, ranging from traditional muted tones to bolder combinations. A practical date window at six o’clock preserves the dial’s balanced layout. It is protected by a single-domed sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating.
Another defining feature is the unidirectional bezel with 120 clicks and a ceramic insert, whose luminous markings make it easy to read elapsed time even in poor lighting. The screw-down case back features a striking lighthouse relief, a nod to the collection’s maritime character.
Power comes from the Japanese automatic Miyota 9015 caliber, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement offers manual winding, a hacking seconds function for precise time setting, and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
The watch is paired with an elegant Beads of Rice stainless steel bracelet with solid links and screwed connections. Specially shaped end links allow it to conform naturally to the wrist. The bracelet tapers from 20 to 18 mm and is secured by a folding clasp with three micro-adjustment positions.
The Islander Port Jefferson proves that dive watches don’t have to be bulky to be truly durable. Their greatest appeal lies in their elegant proportions, slim case, and ability to combine the spirit of historic skin divers with modern everyday wearability.
