Islander Port Jefferson Skin Diver
Classic dive watch in an elegant, exceptionally slim design. Vintage character, modern technology, and water resistance to 150 meters.
The Islander Port Jefferson, also known as the Port Jeff, is a modern interpretation of the classic skin diver watches that rose to fame in the 1950s and ’60s. Designed primarily for recreational diving and exploring the underwater world without heavy dive gear, the Port Jefferson carries on this tradition, combining sporty durability with an elegance that makes it just as suitable for a wetsuit as for a shirt.
The model’s greatest strength is its exceptionally slim stainless-steel case. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and 48 mm lug to lug, it is just 11 mm thick, or 11.5 mm including the domed sapphire crystal. The combination of brushed and polished surfaces accentuates its elegant proportions, while the screw-down crown and case back ensure 15 ATM (150 meters) water resistance.
The dial, with applied hour markers and prominent hands, offers excellent legibility and classic dive-watch styling. The different color options give the watch distinct characters, ranging from traditional muted tones to bolder combinations. A practical date window at six o’clock maintains the dial’s balanced composition. It is protected by a single-domed sapphire crystal with an inner anti-reflective coating.
Another distinctive feature is the unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks and a ceramic insert, whose luminescent markings make it easy to track elapsed time even in poor lighting. The screw-down case back features a prominent lighthouse relief, a nod to the collection’s nautical character.
Power comes from the Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic caliber, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement offers hand winding, hacking seconds for precise time setting, and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
The watch is complemented by an elegant Beads of Rice stainless-steel bracelet with solid links and screw-fixed connections. Specially shaped end links allow it to conform naturally to the wrist. The bracelet tapers from 20 to 18 mm and is finished with a folding clasp offering three micro-adjustment positions.
The Islander Port Jefferson proves that dive watches don’t have to be bulky to be truly durable. Their greatest appeal lies in their elegant proportions, slim case, and ability to combine the atmosphere of vintage skin divers with modern everyday practicality.
