Islander Port Jefferson Skin Diver
Classic dive watches in an elegant, exceptionally slim design. Vintage character, modern technology, and water resistance to 150 meters.
The Islander Port Jefferson, also known as the Port Jeff, is a modern interpretation of the classic skin diver watches that rose to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s. Designed primarily for recreational diving and exploring the underwater world without bulky diving gear, the Port Jefferson carries on this tradition, combining sporting durability with an elegance that makes it just as suited to a wetsuit as to a shirt.
The model’s greatest strength is its exceptionally slim stainless steel case. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and 48 mm lug to lug, it is just 11 mm thick, or 11.5 mm including the domed sapphire crystal. The combination of brushed and polished surfaces accentuates its elegant proportions, while the screw-down crown and case back ensure 15 ATM (150-meter) water resistance.
The dial, with applied hour markers and bold hands, offers excellent legibility and classic dive-watch styling. The different colorways give the watch distinct character, ranging from traditional muted shades to bolder combinations. A practical date window at six o’clock preserves the dial’s balanced design. It is protected by a unidirectionally domed sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating.
Another distinctive feature is the unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks and a ceramic insert, whose luminous markings make it easy to track elapsed time even in low-light conditions. The screw-down case back features a prominent lighthouse relief, referencing the collection’s nautical character.
Power comes from the Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic caliber, operating at 28,800 beats per hour. The movement offers manual winding, a hacking seconds hand for setting the time, and a power reserve of approximately 42 hours.
The watch is paired with an elegant Beads of Rice stainless steel bracelet with solid links and screwed connections. Specially shaped end links allow it to sit naturally on the wrist. The bracelet tapers from 20 to 18 mm and is secured with a folding clasp featuring three micro-adjustment positions.
The Islander Port Jefferson proves that dive watches don’t have to be bulky to be truly durable. Their greatest appeal lies in their elegant proportions, slim case, and ability to combine the character of vintage skin divers with modern everyday practicality.
