The sandwich dial is one of the most effective techniques to add depth and visual power to a dive watch without unnecessary complication. The ISL-80 model utilizes it to its full potential: the bottom layer of the dial is painted with a thick layer of Super-LumiNova C3 in an Old Radium shade, the top layer is black with a sunray brush, and the cutouts for the hour markers sit directly above it. The result is a three-dimensional effect where the markers seemingly float above the luminescent background and then glow with extraordinary intensity in the dark.
The stainless steel case has a cushion shape, which gives the watch a distinctive retro character. The sides of the case are polished, while the top and back are brushed. The lugs are drilled for easy, tool-free strap changes. The case back features an engraving of the outline of Long Island with a 200m water resistance rating.
Inside, a Seiko NH36 movement provides approximately 41 hours of power reserve. Included is a Beads-of-Rice steel bracelet with solid links, screw-in link pins, and a milled folding clasp with micro-adjustment.
