The sandwich dial is one of the most effective techniques to add depth and visual power to a dive watch without unnecessary complications. The ISL-79 model fully utilizes it: the bottom layer of the dial is coated with a thick layer of Super-LumiNova C3, and the top layer in blue-green with cutouts for the hour markers sits directly above it. The result is a three-dimensional effect where the markers seemingly float above the luminous background, glowing with extraordinary intensity in the dark.
The stainless steel case has a cushion shape, giving the watch a distinctive retro character. The sides of the case are polished, while the top and back are brushed. The lugs are drilled for easy strap changes without tools. The case back features an engraving of the Long Island outline with a 200m water resistance rating.
The unidirectional bezel has 120 clicks and features a ceramic insert with luminous markers. Ceramic is scratch-resistant and retains its appearance even after years of wear. The flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial and ensures exceptional legibility without unnecessary glare. The hands are also generously treated with Super-LumiNova C3.
Inside, the Seiko NH36 movement provides a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. It comes with a "Beads-of-Rice" stainless steel bracelet with solid links, screw-in link pins, a milled folding clasp, and micro-adjustment.
