The Islander Northport is a hi-beat dive watch. Named after a historic seaside village on the north shore of Long Island, Northport evokes the feeling of life on the water. When you look at the dial, you are immediately attracted by the embossed wave pattern inspired by the surface of the Long Island Sound.
The case has a comfortable diameter of 40.5 mm and a thickness of only 12.5 mm. The lug-to-lug length is 47 mm and thanks to the negative end links, the bracelet smoothly flows into the case without any overlap. The fully polished bracelet – polished on both the top surface and the sides of the links – visually merges with the case into one whole. The same finish is also featured on the sides of the case and the screw-down crown with the Islander logo.
The dial, with a color transition from sea green to white, carries polished silver applied indexes, generously filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 for a blue glow in the dark. The polished silver hands are treated with the same luminescence. At the 6 o'clock position, we find a date window.
The Northport is powered by a Japanese mechanical movement Miyota 9015 with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour - the second hand ticks eight times per second and its operation feels extremely smooth. The movement supports manual winding and a hacking function (the second hand stops when adjusting the time). The power reserve is approximately 40 hours.
The Northport is fully qualified as a diving watch. The water resistance of 200 m meets the requirements of sports diving with a margin. The unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 positions has a sapphire insert in a matching sea green/white color scheme, complete with a luminescent scale. The sapphire insert is scratch-resistant, as is the flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal above the dial.
The bracelet is attached with fixed end links and its length can be adjusted by exchanging links. The width tapers smoothly from 20 mm at the case to 16 mm at the clasp. The milled clasp with six-position micro-adjustment allows for precise length adjustment without tools.
Northport is compatible with Seiko SKX007 bezels, inserts and crystals.
