Habring² Roulette – Pointer Date

The Habring² Roulette – Pointer Date is a watch that manages to combine serious mechanical watchmaking with a surprisingly playful design. Its main distinguishing feature is the unusual design of the second hand: the classic central second hand is replaced by a four-armed, progressively moving indicator inspired by the cross handle of a roulette wheel. This is where the name Roulette comes from, and also one of the most interesting visual elements of the entire watch.

This motif is also followed by the date indicator, whose scale is stylized according to the numbering on a roulette table. The date is thus not displayed through a common window, but by a central hand that points to the corresponding value around the dial. At first glance, it's a minor detail, but in fact, it's what gives the watch its unmistakable character.

The silver dial combines black, red, and green elements inspired by roulette. Classically shaped hour and minute hands are complemented by a central blued cross-shaped second hand, whose distinctive blue color creates a contrast against the restrained dial. The overall effect is elegant, but thanks to the roulette inspiration, it also feels completely different from traditional dress watches.

The stainless steel case has a diameter of 38.5 mm, a size that gives the watch a very universal character. The polished case is complemented by a sapphire crystal and a sapphire exhibition caseback. A recessed date corrector is located at the 4 o'clock position. Water resistance corresponds to a depth of 30 meters.

Inside, the hand-wound Habring² A11UZ-15s caliber operates, an in-house mechanical movement developed by Habring² manufacture. In addition to the date indicator, it also features a special decoration of the movement's base in the form of an engraved roulette table layout. This detail is not visible during normal wear, but through the exhibition caseback, it reveals the Habrings' approach to watchmaking – technical solutions complemented by a distinctive and carefully thought-out detail.

The Roulette model perfectly demonstrates why Habring² watches are so interesting among connoisseurs. At first glance, they have an elegant and relatively classic appearance, but beneath it lies a proprietary mechanical solution and a wealth of details that one only discovers upon closer examination.
