Futaba
The "Futaba" model is inspired by the city of Futaba in Fukushima Prefecture – a place that was under a government evacuation order from 2011 until August 2022 due to the disaster at the time. Out of an original population of over 7,000, only about 200 people have returned so far, and the city is at the beginning of a long journey to recovery.
Classic design is complemented by distinctive two-tone dial variants that highlight their individual character. The case and bracelet with a polished finish combine an elegant urban look with a reference to the region's history. The color names are derived from Futaba's unique natural scenery and cultural traditions, giving the model a special symbolism.
A 34 mm unisex case and a transparent case back reveal the Japanese automatic CITIZEN MIYOTA Cal. 82S0 movement, known for its reliability and long lifespan.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the watches is donated to projects supporting the future development of Futaba city.

About the brand
Fukushima Watch Company - watches that carry a story of courage and renewal
The Japanese Fukushima Watch Company is not just a watch brand – it is a symbol of hope, perseverance, and masterful Japanese craftsmanship. It was founded in the Fukushima region, severely affected by the 2011 disaster, with a clear mission: to revive the local community through world-class watchmaking art.
Each model tells a true story. The Odaka collection draws inspiration from the colors and traditions of local agriculture, while Futaba commemorates the city that is breathing new life after years of forced evacuation. All watches share precise execution, a quality Japanese CITIZEN MIYOTA movement, and a design that connects classicism with modern elegance.
Fukushima watches are not just timekeepers – they are bearers of emotion and values. Each piece is created with respect for the local landscape, history, and the people who shape it. A portion of the proceeds from sales is dedicated to projects supporting the future of the Fukushima region.
The company's founder, Masayasu Hiraoka, first presented his watches at the prestigious Baselworld exhibition in 2019, beginning the journey to the brand's international recognition. The brand has deep roots in the Fukushima region, specifically in the area of Minamisōma – Odaka, where Hiraoka moved after his work experience in the watch industry and subsequent volunteer activity after the great earthquake. His goal was to support the local community by building from this area a "Japanese Geneva" – a center of watchmaking art.
