Prestex Verimatic watches show how well the combination of British watchmaking aesthetics and a modern approach to mechanical watches can work. The inspiration comes from the understated design of British watches of the mid-20th century, but the result is certainly not a retro copy. The Verimatic feels contemporary, clean, and confident. Its character is based on balanced proportions, prominent Arabic numerals, a structured fume dial, and a carefully crafted case.
One of the most interesting details is the textured fume dial, whose color transition and subtle texture give the watch depth. The classic outer railroad track minute scale, prominent Arabic numerals, and contrasting seconds hand create a very readable whole. The hands have brushed surfaces with polished beveled edges, and like the numerals, they use Super-LumiNova BGW9, so readability remains excellent even in low light conditions.
The 316L stainless steel case combines brushed and polished surfaces and, with a diameter of 39 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 46.5 mm, and a thickness of 11 mm, offers very well-balanced proportions. The double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial from scratches, while the screw-down crown and screw-down case back allow for water resistance up to 200 meters. The Verimatic is therefore not just an elegant office watch – it can easily handle daily active wear.
Inside, the proven Miyota 9039 automatic movement provides reliable automatic winding without the need for a battery. Furthermore, Verimatic watches are individually numbered and produced in a limited series of 500 pieces, which adds an interesting collectible dimension. Various strap options are available, including leather, suede, rubber, or a steel mesh bracelet, allowing for easy customization of the watch's character.

About the brand
Prestex is an independent British watch brand that builds on the more than century-old story of the Duckworth family. Its roots go back to 1869, when the family company Prestons of Bolton was founded. In the 1920s, watches were produced under the Prestex name for customers all over the world. Historical experience with chronographs, pocket watches, and elegant dress watches today forms the basis on which the brand continues with its modern collections.
The current Prestex is led by Neil Duckworth, who has many years of experience in the watch industry and in the 1980s was instrumental in introducing the TAG Heuer brand to the British market. Prestex watches are designed in England and combine British design tradition with modern materials and Swiss and Japanese watchmaking. The brand remains independent and produces its collections in limited quantities.
