Prestex Parker watches do not try to imitate the past, they directly stem from it. The characteristic rectangular case, elegant proportions, and a distinctive Art Deco touch refer to the original Prestex watch from around 1935. However, the current interpretation combines historical design with modern materials and reliable Swiss movements, so the result is not a museum watch but a distinctive model for everyday wear.
The rectangular case is precisely what sets Parker apart from most contemporary watches. At a time when the market is dominated by round sports cases, Parker looks elegant, slim, and unexpected. In the classic quartz version, the case measures 24 × 31 mm and is only 7.5 mm thick, making it very subtle on the wrist. The proportions are complemented by a distinctive crown and a double-domed sapphire crystal, which further enhances the vintage character of the watch.
The dial is built on simplicity and excellent readability. Polished applied indices are based on the original Prestex typographical style, and at the 6 o'clock position, there is a characteristic rectangular small seconds sub-dial. Prestex is an independent British watch brand that builds on more than a century-long history of the Duckworth family. Its roots date back to 1869 when the Prestons of Bolton family company was founded. In the 1920s, watches destined for customers worldwide were produced under the Prestex name. Historical experience with chronographs, pocket watches, and elegant dress watches today forms the basis on which the brand builds its modern collections.
Currently, Prestex is led by Neil Duckworth, who has extensive experience in the watch industry and was involved in introducing the TAG Heuer brand to the British market in the 1980s. Prestex watches are designed in England and combine British design tradition with modern materials and Swiss and Japanese watchmaking. The brand remains independent and produces its collections in limited quantities.
