Prestex Broadgate GMT Automatic is a modern British watch for those who want to combine distinctive design with the practical function of a second time zone. The Broadgate collection is named after Broadgate in the City of London, one of the British capital's most important financial centers. And it is this urban character of London that is reflected in the watch – it is confident, distinctive and contemporary, while retaining the typical Prestex design elements.
The dominant feature of this variant is the orange dial. The characteristic Arabic numerals are based on the typography that Prestex uses across its collections, giving the watch a distinctive British signature. The blue GMT hand clearly distinguishes the second time from the main time, while also creating a striking color contrast. The hands and indices are equipped with Super-LumiNova BGW9, ensuring excellent legibility even in low light conditions.
At the heart of the Broadgate GMT is the Miyota 9075 GMT automatic movement, which offers true GMT functionality. Unlike common "office GMT" solutions, the 24-hour GMT hand can be set independently, which is particularly practical when traveling between time zones. This makes the watch not only a design statement but also a truly useful travel tool.
The 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 47 mm, and a thickness of approximately 13 mm. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches, and a transparent sapphire case back allows a view of the automatic movement. The 200-meter water resistance significantly elevates the Broadgate beyond typical dress GMT watches. This combination makes it a highly versatile timepiece – performing equally well in the city, on a business trip, or on holiday.
The orange dial is complemented by a blue FKM strap, giving the watch a sportier and more relaxed character. Thanks to the quick-release system, the strap can be easily changed, adapting the Broadgate to different occasions in an instant.
The Broadgate GMT Automatic is a Prestex for a new generation. About the brand
Prestex is an independent British watch brand built on the more than century-long story of the Duckworth family. Its roots date back to 1869, when the family company Prestons of Bolton was founded. In the 1920s, watches were produced under the Prestex name for customers worldwide. The historical experience with chronographs, pocket watches, and elegant dress watches today forms the basis on which the brand builds its modern collections.
The current Prestex is led by Neil Duckworth, who has extensive experience in the watch industry and helped introduce the TAG Heuer brand to the British market in the 1980s. Prestex watches are designed in England and combine British design tradition with modern materials and Swiss and Japanese watchmaking. The brand remains independent and produces its collections in limited quantities.
