Prestex Broadgate GMT Automatic are modern British watches for those who want to combine distinctive design with the practical function of a second time zone. The Broadgate collection is named after Broadgate in the City of London, one of the most important financial centers of the British capital. And it is the urban character of London that is reflected in the watches – they are confident, distinctive, and contemporary, yet retain the typical design elements of the Prestex brand.
The dominant feature of this variant is the orange dial. The characteristic Arabic numerals are based on the typography Prestex uses across its collections, giving the watches a distinctive British signature. The blue GMT hand clearly distinguishes the second time from the main time while creating a striking color contrast. The hands and indices are equipped with Super-LumiNova BGW9, ensuring very good readability even in low light conditions.
At the heart of the Broadgate GMT is the Miyota 9075 GMT automatic movement, which offers true GMT functionality. Unlike common "office GMT" solutions, the 24-hour GMT hand can be set independently here, which is particularly practical when traveling between time zones. This makes the watch not just a design piece, but a truly useful travel tool.
The 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 47 mm, and a thickness of approximately 13 mm. The flat sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches, and the transparent sapphire case back allows a view of the automatic movement. A water resistance of 200 meters sets the Broadgate significantly apart from typical dress GMT watches. This combination makes the model a very versatile watch – it works equally well in the city, on a business trip, or on vacation.
The green dial is complemented by a green FKM strap, which gives the watch a sportier and more relaxed character. Thanks to the quick-release system, the strap can be easily changed, allowing the Broadgate to be adapted to different occasions in an instant.
The Broadgate GMT Automatic is Prestex for a new generation. It has enough character to stand out among regular sports GMT watches, while also offering a practical complication, 200 meters water resistance, sapphire crystal, and a compact 40mm case. About the brand
Prestex is an independent British watch brand built on over a century of history of the Duckworth family. Its roots go back to 1869, when the family company Prestons of Bolton was founded. In the 1920s, watches were produced under the Prestex name for customers around the world. Historical experience with chronographs, pocket watches, and elegant dress watches today forms the basis on which the brand builds its modern collections.
Current Prestex is led by Neil Duckworth, who has many years of experience in the watch industry and was involved in introducing the TAG Heuer brand to the British market in the 1980s. Prestex watches are designed in England and combine British design tradition with modern materials and Swiss and Japanese watchmaking. The brand remains independent and produces its collections in limited quantities.
