Prestex Broadgate GMT Automatic is a modern British watch for those who want to combine distinctive design with the practical function of a second time zone. The Broadgate collection is named after Broadgate in the City of London, one of the most important financial centers of the British metropolis. The urban character of London is reflected in the watches – they are confident, distinctive, and contemporary, while retaining the typical design elements of the Prestex brand.
The dominant feature of this variant is the blue dial. The characteristic Arabic numerals are based on the typography Prestex uses across its collections, giving the watch a distinctive British signature. The black GMT hand clearly distinguishes the second time from the main time and simultaneously creates a striking color contrast. The hands and indices are equipped with Super-LumiNova BGW9, ensuring excellent legibility even in low light conditions.
At the heart of the Broadgate GMT is the Miyota 9075 GMT automatic movement, which offers a true GMT function. Unlike common "office GMT" solutions, the 24-hour GMT hand can be set independently, which is particularly practical when traveling between time zones. This makes the watch not just a design statement, but a truly useful travel tool.
The 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 47 mm, and a thickness of approximately 13 mm. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches, and a display sapphire case back offers a view of the automatic movement. The 200-meter water resistance significantly elevates the Broadgate beyond typical dress GMT watches. This combination makes the model a very versatile watch – it works equally well in the city, on a business trip, or on vacation.
The blue dial is complemented by a blue strap made of FKM rubber, which gives the watch a sportier and more relaxed character. Thanks to the quick-release system, the strap can be easily changed, adapting the Broadgate to different occasions in an instant.
The Broadgate GMT Automatic is Prestex for a new generation. About the brand
Prestex is an independent British watch brand built on over a century of history of the Duckworth family. Its roots go back to 1869, when the Prestons of Bolton family company was founded. In the 1920s, watches under the Prestex name were produced for customers worldwide. The historical experience with chronographs, pocket watches, and elegant dress watches now forms the foundation upon which the brand builds its modern collections.
The current Prestex is led by Neil Duckworth, who has extensive experience in the watch industry and was involved in the introduction of the TAG Heuer brand to the British market in the 1980s. Prestex watches are designed in England and combine British design tradition with modern materials and Swiss and Japanese watchmaking. The brand remains independent and produces its collections in limited quantities.
