In this variant, the contrast between the warm tone of the dial and the cooler shade of the blued hands stands out beautifully. The automatic version uses the Miyota 82S5 movement with central hour and minute hands and a small seconds sub-dial, a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The model is individually numbered and features an exhibition sapphire caseback, allowing the mechanical movement to be observed.

Moreover, the Bolton Automatic is not merely a modern interpretation without historical roots. The first automatic version of the Bolton was launched in 2022 with a white dial in a porcelain-like finish. A year later, the brand also introduced the Midnight Blue and Salmon Pink variants to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. These models specifically received the exhibition sapphire caseback and the characteristic Bolton numerals.

The Bolton is thus an interesting choice for anyone looking for a mechanical watch with a distinctive British character, but who doesn't want another traditional round watch without its own story.
