Puri 6 Silver II represents the second generation of iconic desk clocks by the Czech designer and Nixie tube manufacturer Dalibor Farný. Their design is based on a simple idea – to let the beauty of six glass Nixie tubes stand out, their characteristic orange glow reminiscent of the golden era of electronics in the 1960s and 70s. The six Nixie tubes display hours, minutes, and seconds, creating an impressive, ever-changing light composition.

There is an extraordinary story behind every glowing digit. Dalibor Farný decided to revive the almost forgotten craft of manufacturing Nixie tubes, whose industrial production ended in the 1990s. In his workshop in Březolupy, Moravia, he gradually mastered the demanding processes of working with glass, metal, vacuum, and gas fillings. Today, Nixie tubes are handcrafted there with an emphasis on precision, quality, and the preservation of this unique technology.

The second generation of the Puri maintains the clean, timeless design of the original but introduces significantly simpler operation. The time can be set directly on the clock using three buttons, without the need to install an app or connect to the internet. The Simple mode offers easy daily use, while the advanced Expert mode provides access to additional settings and functions via Wi-Fi. All functions run directly on the clock, independent of cloud services.

The elegant Silver finish highlights the industrial character of the clock and allows the Nixie tubes themselves to take center stage. With dimensions of 530 × 140 × 140 mm, the Puri 6 becomes an unmissable design object that connects technical history with contemporary interiors.

Power is supplied via modern USB-C Power Delivery, with a typical power consumption of approximately 8 W. A CR2032 backup battery keeps the time even when disconnected from power.

Dalibor Farný is a Czech manufacturer who is the only one in the world specializing in the manual production of modern Nixie tubes. His workshop in the Czech Republic continues the tradition of technology that died out in the 90s; after more than ten years of development, he managed to restore the complete manufacturing process – from glass blowing to vacuum technology. Thanks to his work, Nixie tubes, once used in aviation technology and early computers, have once again become a symbol of precise craftsmanship and collector exclusivity.
