About the Model
There are watches that perform a function. And then there are watches that perform it with a story. The Baltic Heures du Monde – Sodalite belongs to the latter category. This limited edition combines a worldtimer complication with a dial cut from natural sodalite – a mineral whose deep blue color with white veins formed over thousands of years deep within the earth. No two pieces look alike.
The worldtimer is one of the most practical yet elegant complications in watchmaking. A single glance at the dial reveals the current time in all world time zones simultaneously – without recalculations, without a second watch. The rotating 24-hour disc above the dial, colored to match the rock mineral and ceramic bezel, completes a rotation once a day, precisely in sync with light and darkness.
The amazing dial, made of sodalite, immediately catches the eye. Sodalite is a natural semi-precious stone characterized by its deep cobalt blue, interrupted by white veins of nepheline. Each dial is cut from stone whose structure was formed millions of years ago – no lacquer layer or print can imitate it. The result is a vibrant, flowing surface that changes expression depending on the light and viewing angle.
Polished faceted sword-shaped hands and stick indices are covered with Super-LumiNova® BGW9 luminous material – deliberately restrained, so that the metal and lume gently frame the mineral beauty of the dial without overpowering it.
The Heures du Monde is designed as a dress watch with tool watch features. The 316L surgical steel case has a diameter of 37 mm – a compact, wrist-flattering size worn by both men and women. The thickness of 11.3 mm (9.3 mm without glass) corresponds to the character of a dressy watch, yet it offers water resistance of 100 m / 10 ATM.
The unidirectional ceramic bezel with 120 positions is brushed, not polished – preserving the sober character of the entire model. The double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the underside guarantees exceptional legibility and scratch resistance. The case finish combines vertical lines on the upper part of the lugs and horizontal on the sides – optically extending the silhouette and maintaining sharp edges.
The heart of the watch is a Swiss-made Soprod C125 GMT automatic movement. The date function was deliberately removed to allow the sodalite dial to stand out in all its purity. The movement has a power reserve of 42 hours and a hacking function for precise setting. The GMT mechanism powers the 24-hour disc of the worldtimer complication.
The first series of Heures du Monde is available in 200 pieces for each model. The series number is engraved on the case back of the watch – each piece bears its unique serial number from 1 to 200.
