The Baltic HMS 002 is an automatic mechanical watch that harmoniously combines design inspiration from the 1940s with a modern finish, making it suitable for both everyday wear and formal occasions. The model belongs to the HMS collection and is distinguished by its three-hand time display and compact case proportions.
The case is made of 316L stainless steel, measures 38 mm in diameter and approximately 13 mm thick (around 10 mm excluding the crystal), and has a 20 mm lug width for a strap or bracelet. Its construction combines horizontally brushed surfaces on the case middle with a finely polished bezel, creating a subtle contrast and a touch of vintage character. The watch is water-resistant to 50 m/5 ATM, suitable for everyday activities. The dial is protected by a domed hesalite crystal, which contributes to the model’s retro aesthetic.
The dial features a sector layout combining different textures. The main surface is typically matte and complemented by circularly brushed sections (chapter ring) framing the indexes. Applied indexes and “leaf” or “feuille” hands are proportionally balanced and complement the structured sector design. Details vary across the colorways, including the accents on the indexes and hands and the surface contrasts. For example, the hands on the black-dial version typically have a finish that contrasts with the background, while other versions use different color combinations to highlight the dial’s details.
Inside the watch is a Miyota 8315 automatic movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The caliber displays the hours, minutes, and central seconds and features a hacking function, which stops the seconds hand to allow precise time setting.
The Baltic HMS 002 comes with an Italian leather strap, or optionally with a stainless-steel “beads of rice” or “flat link” bracelet. Both can be easily changed thanks to the standard 20 mm lug width.
The Baltic HMS 002 is an elegant, compact automatic watch with a historically inspired dial available in a variety of colors. The most common dial variants include Black, Silver, Blue Gilt, and Gold PVD Black, each featuring different accents and finishes on the indexes and hands.
