The American Quilt is the result of a collaboration between AndoAndoAndo and designer Aditya Johri, created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence. It draws inspiration from traditional American quilts, especially the iconic Ohio Star pattern, which is made up of many individual pieces that together create a harmonious whole. The creators applied the same principle to the watch dial – the individual elements here are not just decoration, but together they tell a story of American tradition, craftsmanship, and the combining of various elements into one whole.

The greatest attention is deserved by the Mother of Pearl dial itself. Red, blue, and ivory create the characteristic Ohio Star motif, with geometric lines also recalling the individual seams and texture of a traditional quilt. In addition, Mother of Pearl lends each dial its own depth and subtle reflections, so the resulting look changes depending on how the light hits it. It's an unusual combination of a traditional American motif with a material that is valued in watchmaking precisely for its natural variability.

The American Quilt is produced in two case finishes. The silver variant has a stainless steel case, while the gold version uses the same steel case with a 24k gold PVD coating. Both variants feature a sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating and an interestingly designed transparent sapphire caseback. The case has a diameter of 41 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 36 mm, and a thickness of 10.7 mm. Water resistance is 5 ATM.

Inside works the Seiko Instruments VH31 High Beat Quartz, a quartz movement known for its smooth sweeping second hand. Its declared accuracy is ±15 seconds per month and it uses a commonly available 371 / SR920SW battery. The watches are assembled in China.

But the most interesting part comes with the limitation. Each color variant is produced in a quantity of only 25 pieces. The American Quilt is not a mass-produced model, but a truly small limited edition created for a specific collaboration. Each piece also benefits from the character of the Mother of Pearl dial, which, thanks to the natural properties of the material, gives the watch an individual look.

The American Quilt is particularly interesting because its design has a real story. It's not just a color combination inspired by the American flag. The Ohio Star pattern, the work with individual pieces of Mother of Pearl, and the geometric structure of the dial are based on the quilt tradition – a craft technique in which many individual elements create one whole.
