Only \u003cstrong\u003ethree pieces were created\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eGibeon – a real meteorite on your wrist\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe main role is played by the dial made from real \u003cstrong\u003eGibeon meteorite\u003c\/strong\u003e, one of the best-known iron meteorites used in watchmaking.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnd that's where the story of this dial begins.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe typical geometric structure you see on its surface is not man-made. It is the natural crystalline structure of an iron-nickel meteorite, formed by extremely slow cooling of the material over millions of years.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTo fully reveal it, the meteorite must be properly processed.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFor our edition, the surface is first \u003cstrong\u003eacid-etched\u003c\/strong\u003e to highlight the characteristic structure of the meteorite. It is then \u003cstrong\u003erhodium-plated\u003c\/strong\u003e. Rhodium plating helps to accentuate the pattern but also has an important practical function – it protects the material itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOnly then does the blue come into play.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWhy is the meteorite blue?\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe got the answer to this question directly from the founder of Sartory-Billard, \u003cstrong\u003eArmand Billard\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnd when we asked him for the exact recipe, he jokingly asked if we really wanted him to reveal the recipe that his \"great-great-great-grandfather gave him when he was five years old.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAccording to him, the reality is seemingly simpler – \u003cstrong\u003ebut it is the know-how that determines the result\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe blue color is not created by simply painting the meteorite with an opaque color. A \u003cstrong\u003etransparent tinted clear coat\u003c\/strong\u003e is applied to the prepared and rhodium-plated surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAnd the word \u003cem\u003etransparent\u003c\/em\u003e is crucial here.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe layer gives the dial its intense blue hue, but at the same time leaves the natural structure of the meteorite visible beneath it. Light passes through the colored layer, reflects off the textured and rhodium-plated surface, creating a very vibrant visual effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDepending on the viewing angle and the incident light, the dial can therefore transition from \u003cstrong\u003edeep dark blue through electric blue to lighter metallic reflections\u003c\/strong\u003e. Above all, however, the pattern of the Gibeon itself remains visible.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe resulting color is therefore not just a property of the pigment. It is the result of a combination of \u003cstrong\u003ethe natural structure of the meteorite, etching, rhodium plating, a transparent tinted layer, and, above all, the experience of combining these individual processes\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe recipe remains with Armand. Although \u003cstrong\u003eonly three watches were created\u003c\/strong\u003e, these three pieces are not identical to each other.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach owner will thus receive their own part of the Gibeon meteorite with a unique pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eTypography as part of the design\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA striking part of this special configuration is also the \u003cstrong\u003emodern typography of the Arabic numerals\u003c\/strong\u003e. Their clean, geometric design creates an interesting contrast with the irregular natural structure of the meteorite and shifts the SB04-E from classic elegance towards a more contemporary, sportier character.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe numerals are not merely a practical element for telling time.
